The launch of the new Samsung Omnia has been accompanied by a marching band, fireworks and a ticker-tape parade, according to reports.
According to the Cnet website, Samsung's new handset - which was previously known as the SGH-i900 - has been launched alongside a new viral marketing campaign.
In the clip, which is designed to emulate the kind of unboxing videos usually uploaded to the web by gadget-hungry consumers, the film-maker unpacks the new Omnia and is met with an unusual surprise.
The box takes on a life of its own and a marching band, horse-bound cowboy and fireworks combine to hail the arrival of the phone, which rises from a plinth amid the table-top carnival.
"This is about the coolest viral video from a corporation that we've seen so far," the site notes, adding: "We wish this was how all unboxings went."
Mobile Gazette said earlier this year that between the Omnia and the iPhone 3G, it would prefer the Samsung model, but added that this was really "just a matter of taste".
