LG Prada phone gets handy new wrist accessory

The new LG Prada phone - also known as the KF900 - is to get a unique wrist accessory which is sure to make it even more attractive to style-lovers.

Called the Prada Link, the accessory wirelessly synchronises with the catwalk handset through the use of Bluetooth technology.

Link wearers will not have to fumble around and take their phone out of their handbag or pocket as the wrist device will let users know through sound or vibration about incoming calls, text messages and caller ID.

It is much more than just a pretty device, the manufacturer says, because a security feature on the Link will let users know when the handset moves out of range.

The Link's makers believe that th ...

A second microphone is also fitted in the VE66 for enhanced sound and a five-megapixel camera captures "crisp and clear images" which can then be edited to achieve the best photo possible.

The other features Motorola revealed were the FastScroll navigation wheel and the mp3 player with integrated FM radio.

Cowell suffers dumping via text factor

X Factor judge Simon Cowell has admitted to being on the wrong end of a text message dumping.

Speaking to US TV show Extra, the music mogul sat alongside his ex-partner Terri Seymour and said that although the pair had split on good terms - it was she who had ended the relationship.

The Daily Mail reports that Cowell laughed-off suggestions that he had given the TV star the elbow alongside a multi-million pound parting gift consisting of £2.3million in cash and a £2.3million mansion in Beverly Hills.

Cowell admitted the partnership had ended "because Terri decided to dump me" and turning to his estranged lover, added: "You sent me a text."

Global mobile gaming 'could reach £6.6bn'

The use of mobile phones for gaming will continue to grow, according to the results of a new study.

A survey conducted by Juniper Research has found that the global retail value of the mobile gaming market could rise from $5.4 billion (£3.6 billion) this year to over $10 billion before 2013.

It was noted that the introduction of the Apple iPhone 3G had also boosted the sector by providing a new platform from which publishers and developers can work.

However, it was stated that despite this, there are fears that limited shares for other publishers is causing some to move away from the market.

Report author Dr Windsor Holden said that Apple's model for mobile gaming profit h ...

Mac classic heads to Apple mobile phones

A Macintosh gaming classic has been polished up and relaunched for Apple's latest line of mobile phones.

The company, formerly known as Apple Macintosh, first saw Crystal Quest appear on its platforms back in 1987 - and the game has now been brought back for its iPhone handset.

Apple iPhone 3G customers can now take part in the "intense, adrenalin-boiling arcade action" by collecting crystals, shooting down enemies and piloting their ship through a selection of treacherous levels.

Niccolo de Masi, president of Hands-On Mobile - one of the companies behind the launch - said gamers will love the "addictive gameplay" of the title and fans who remember it from the first ...

Samsung's phone costs £5

A new handset from Samsung could be making it into children's Christmas stockings in a few weeks - as opposed to being considered one of the main gifts of the season.

The Samsung SGH-B130 is a divergence from the ethos dictating mobile phones should be all-singing and all-dancing, and will cost cash-strapped parents £5.

It is a pre-pay utility phone that has no camera or mp3 player but this could also come as a relief for parents who do not want their tween or teen indulging in making stunt videos of themselves or playing their music in the street in an anti-social manner.

What it does come with it the ability to call and text, with WAP and GPRS capability and a USB port.

Google's mobile voice search launched

Google has launched a new application for Apple's iPhone that enable users of the smartphone to run an internet search using only their voice.

The clever software lets people ask questions, which are sent to Google as a text file and interpreted accordingly.

Search results are then sent back to the phone and could be used to find local services while out and about - such a restaurants, clubs, taxi services or train times.

While the software is only available for the iPhone at the moment, Google says it will be making it available for other mobile phones.

Yahoo! recently released a voice search facility for use on Blackberry and Nokia phones.

Carphonewarehouse 'could demerge' TalkTalk

Mobile phone retailer Carphonewarehouse may decide to divide from TalkTalk, according to widespread reports.

TalkTalk is the company's mobile broadband and calls business and has been part of Carphonewarehouse Group since 1989.

Media reports suggest chief executive Charles Dunstone will announce the division later this week and also the news that he will remain on the boards of both companies.

However, the group has not made an official statement and has refused to comment to newspaper speculation about the split.

The announcement is likely to be during the group's earnings presentation, which will be broadcast over the internet on November 18th, some sources suggest.

T Mobile reminds graduates about phone skills

Graduates should include their mobile communications skills on their CVs in order to show how tech-savvy they are, T Mobile has said.

Research by the mobile phone manufacturer revealed 51 per cent of companies think highly of job candidates who can use mobile technology - such as mobile broadband.

In addition, 78 per cent of students think they could work well while out and about on the job, thanks to their mobile skills.

Graduates could be wasting an opportunity not to highlight these relevant skills, T Mobile suggests.

Roger Tweedy of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation said remote working was a feature of many careers and workers' ability to use mobile technology wa ...
